Simpsonville traces its roots back to the early 1800s when a blacksmith named Pete Simpson opened a blacksmithing shop in the heart of today’s downtown and gave the city its name. The town became a vital part of textile production through both World War I and World War II. When you visit for the first time, be sure to take a stroll through the heart of the historic downtown and enjoy window shopping at local shops, snap a photo of one of the many murals, or cool off with an ice cream cone underneath the iconic clock tower. You can even catch a concert or festival at the open-air amphitheater at Heritage Park in the summer and fall. Hungry for more? Head down to Vaughan’s Warehouse, Stella’s Southern Bistro, or Unterhausen Pub for a great dining experience. If you love the great outdoors, try cycling through the city park, spending a day at the water park, or checking out the beautiful golf courses.
